Ready to Walk
Finn is a master crawler and he is getting closer and closer to walking. Great grandma Eagan bought him this litle push toy for his birthday, but couldn't wait to give it to him. It's a good thing because he may just be walking by his birthday. He attempted to take a step Sunday - let go of the ottoman, moved one foot forward and fell down. Today he took 2 steps before he fell on his bottom. He tried several more times, but without much success. He's definitely determined.
Time to Play
Finn just loves to play. He makes a mess of the living room, pulling everything out of his toybox. He seems to love disorder. If we stack blocks, he knocks them down. If we put his cars in a row, he pushes them out of order. He's already all boy. He makess an eee-ooh-eee-ooh sound when he pushes his little fire truck and tries to make a brrmmm sound when pushing his bulldozer. Such a sweet, happy boy!
so Finn decided he needed to climb on top of it.

Growing, growing, growing
Every time I look at my sweet boy I am taken aback at how big he is getting. He is also growing more teeth which has severely thrown off the sleeping - his and ours. At our most desperate moments we use the swing and if that fails, I have even brought him to bed with us. I know this is a BAD idea, but logic goes out the window at 4am on a work night after he's been up every 45 minutes to an hour since 10ish.
Finn is pulling up on everything and consistently lets go. He is pretty good at standing for a few seconds unassisted and even bounces a little sometimes. I'm dreading the walking a little bit although he is so fast with his crawling it probably won't make much difference. He's into everything and who knows what all he's eaten off the floor. He has a new nickname, well two actually. Wes calls his Squeaker and I call him Screech. He has taken to belting out a high pitched squeal when he is happy, frustrated, or grumpy. Wes doesn't like when I call him Screech because of the negative Saved by the Bell connection, but I hold firm with my stance that Finn is not squeaking. Squeaking would be cute.
Toothy grin.

Mobile and Messy
Finn is certainly a busy little guy. He is fast and his new favorite hobby is putting everything in his mouth that he can get his fingers on. So our favorite new hobby is digging things out of Finn's mouth.
We had to take a trip to the doctor's office Monday because Finn had a crusty eye. At first I thought he jsut scratched his eyelid, but since it started looking worse rather than better, we took him in. He had conjunctivitis (yep, pink eye). It wasn't too serious and after a few eye drops he was no longer contagious and his eye looked much better.
Here are some pics from the past couple weeks.
Finn loves crawling in, out, over, and around everything.
Our little puppy dog. He loves to carry things in his mouth as he crawls around.
Baby Lane let Finn play in his jumper and Miss Emma had a good time playng with him. This was Finn's first camping adventure. He was a good little camper.
Walking to the bathtub.
Past, yummy! Pasta, messy!
I can walk only holding one hand!
This needs some explanation! First of all that is the news we're watching so at least it's not rotting his brain. Finn still eats dinner right before bath time and we try to eat before that. Now that Finn is eating "real" food, he loves to eat from our plate. We used to be able to trick him with Cheerios, but he's too smart for that now. He pushes the Cheerios away and gets on his tip toes reaching for our plate. We usually are able to share by just tearing off small pieces of our food (bread, tortillas, pizza crust, corn niblets, green beans, etc), but on this night we were eating pasta and I could only imagine marinara smudges on everything in the living room so I drug the high chair in to limit the mess. We will definitely not make this a habit, but I thought it was a funny picture. A couch potato in training. :)
