We stayed at a Days Inn that we've stayed at before. It is very clean and very reasonable (less that $150) and only about a mile from Wrigley so we can walk to the game. We got to Chicago a little before 11, parked the car at the garage near the hotel, loaded Finn in the umbrella stroller and off we went.
We decided to eat at the Goose Island Brewery. It worked out very well. We were there early enough to get a table and they had highchairs. We ate and Finn enjoyed his very first french fry. He only ate one because he swallowed a piece a little early, had quite a coughing fit, and Wes decided that was enough. Good while it lasted, huh buddy?
After lunch, we headed down the street to the stadium. The weather was warm and a bit muggy, but there was a cool breeze. We walked around before the game started and bought Finn a Wrigley Field hat pin. I collect magnets at all the stadiums I visit, Wes collects hats, so we thought Finn should start a collection, too.

Unfortunately, the weather decided not to cooperate. They put the tarp on right before the game was supposed to start, briefly took it off, and then back on it went. We waited and waited - even through an hour of no rain - and waited. Here's some pics of us waiting.
At one point they announced that they were hoping to start the game after a storm front passed that was to hit "in one hour." After over 3 hours of waiting, the game never started. I watched the ump come out of the dugout and wave his arms followed by a cut across the neck and then the announcement came - POSTPONED. So Finn's first game at Wrigley became a visit to Wrigley. Get used to it Finn - maybe next year.
Blah!
