Busy, busy, busy

Life has been pretty nonstop since school started. Of course we've been busy with work (paperwork, paperwork, paperwork, ugh!), Wes has been coaching, and we've had plans most weekends. Here's a quick pictoral recap.

We were waiting for Finn's 9 month well baby check up and Finn made the waiting room his playground. He crawled around everywhere. I love this next action shot.
Here's our skinny little guy waiting for Dr. Schuster to come in. He has dropped to the 38th percentile in weight (18 lbs 6 oz), but is average for length and head size. The doctor was not worried about his skinniness sincehe is so much more active now. He said it's pretty normal. We did notice him seeming to be a bit hungrier this past week so we have been sending an extra bottle to daycare.
We had a great Labor Day weekend. Wes's cousin Mike and his wife Sally have a "cousins weekend" every year at their house on Lake Wind outside of Milwaukee. We haven't ever gone so we decided to make the trip. We had a great time and it was nice to see everyone. I noticed that I only took pictures of Finn though. That seems to be a pattern. This is the view of the lake from their back deck.

Finn pretty much played on the deck all day and we did our best to take leaves and twigs out of his mouth.
Here he is trying out the stairs.
My friend Bob was nice enough to drive out to meet up with us. He lives in Milwaukee and we haven't seen him since our wedding. Here's Finn with his "Uncle Bubby."

Here we are hanging out at Spaulding Park watching Wes coach one of the Franklin Middle School aseball games. Below, I was trying to get a picture of Finn with Wes in the background, but Finn kept looking away. Here he decided to close his eyes.
My Illini guys! I love this pic. Finn looks so grown. We were getting ready to head out to Finn's first tailgate and meet up with some of Wes's friends from work. The weather was perfect and we had a great time.

Hangin' with Jefe.

After tailgating, we headed to Monticello for Grandmother Miller's 95th birthday party and the Miller family reunion was in St. Joe the next day.
Tonight we walked to downtown Urbana for a cookout being hosted by three local farms. It was a benefit for a local foodbank in honor of Hunger Action Month. We paid $10 each for a burger, drink, and a side (coleslaw or potato salad). All of the money goes directly to the foodbank.

This weekend we're heading to Matt & Katie's in Peoria for a friend and family camp out party. Here's hoping Finn doesn't keep everyone up all night.

**Teething note - Finn has a couple more teeth coming in on top. We had a rough 3 weeks of interrupted sleep, but he has gone back to being our super sleeper. Hopefully these new teeth don't cause Finn any restlessness.

  1. I just figured out how to post comments :) It was good seeing you guys. Finn's such a cutie! I think he might be a skinny mckinney (okay miller) like Kodey. I looked and kodey was 18.7 lbs at 9 mo.
